Mafeking Explorer Scout Unit took part in the St Georges Day Parade, leading the column as flag bearers through the centre of Swadlincote. All of the groups from the South Derbyshire district were invited, so the parade consisted of a whole range of young people, from Squirrels (aged 4-6) through to the Explorers and Young Leaders.

As is tradition, at the end of the parade we all assembled in the leisure centre hall to renew our Scout Promise. And there was a bit of a surprise for Mafeking, as we were presented for the award for the best group in the South Derbyshire district!

A huge congratulations to the Explorers, the Explorer Exec and the Adult Volunteer Team in making the last 12 months such a success.
